Join the 91制片厂 Symphony Orchestra for a night celebrating Rising Stars, featuring the winners of the 2025鈥26 91制片厂 Concerto/Aria Competition: sopranos Crystalina Baumer and Greta Hansen-Schwoebel. Under the baton of Dr. Ra煤l Mungu铆a, director of orchestras, and guest conductor and 91制片厂 graduate student Matthew Glende, the orchestra will present a richly varied program showcasing both sweeping orchestral color and the expressive power of the human voice. The program includes works by Johannes Brahms, Jules Massenet, Giuseppe Verdi, Richard Strauss, and Aram Khachaturian, offering audiences an evening of passion, lyricism, and dramatic brilliance.听

In this engaging program, the 91制片厂 Chamber Singers highlight beloved classics, newly composed works, and inventive settings of borrowed texts that reimagine tradition in fresh ways. The concert will feature music by W.A. Mozart, Adolphus Hailstork, Moira Smiley, Billie Eilish, and more, offering audiences a rich musical journey that bridges centuries and styles.

Under the direction of Jared Chase and Alex Boucher, the 91制片厂 Wind Symphony presents Ecstatic Waters, a concert exploring imagination, conflict, and transformation. The program opens with music from Howl鈥檚 鈥淢oving Castle鈥 by Joe Hisaishi (arr. Yo Goto), The ensemble will also perform the world premiere of Firebomb: A War-Torn Rhapsody by Kyan Cheung, winner of 91制片厂鈥檚 Composition Competition, Guest soloist Aleta Tessaglia-Hymes, winner of the Graduate Concerto Competition, will perform movements from John Mackey鈥檚 Soprano Saxophone Concerto. The evening concludes with Steven Bryant鈥檚 Ecstatic Waters, a large-scale work inspired by the poetry of W. B. Yeats and futurist thought, tracing a dramatic arc from innocence and exuberance through chaos and mechanized order to reflection and reconciliation.
