Canadian-Korean pianist, Sarah Rhee-Tirr茅, has performed as recitalist and soloist withorchestras throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Her engagements include聽performances with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra(USA), Rome Chamber聽Orchestra (Italy), New Millennium Orchestra (Spain), Orchestra London (Canada) and聽Eastman Symphony Orchestra among others. She has captured numerous top prizes at聽the international level including the Young Keyboard Artists Association International聽Competition, the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition, Montreal Symphony聽Orchestra Competition, and 4-Time winner of the Canadian National Music Competition.
Sarah is an avid chamber musician and lecturer. Solo and chamber performance聽venues have included Lincoln Center鈥檚 Alice Tully Hall (New York), Ford Center for the聽Performing Arts (Toronto, Canada) and the Eastman Kodak Theatre. She has given聽master classes at Silpakorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, and many other聽institutions throughout North America.
Dr. Rhee-Tirr茅 has held collegiate positions at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania聽as Assistant Professor of Piano. She was also teaching assistant to world renowned pedagogue,聽Nelita True. Sarah has extensive teaching experience both at the collegiate and preparatory聽levels and is a regular adjudicator for state, national and international competitions.聽She has聽served on the faculties of the Eastman Community Music School and Hochstein School of聽Music.
Sarah Rhee-Tirr茅 holds a Doctor of Musical Arts and Bachelor of Music from the聽Eastman School of Music, where she was awarded the prestigious Performer鈥檚聽Certificate, and Master鈥檚 Degree in Piano Performance from the Juilliard School. Her聽teachers include Nelita True, Julian Martin, Marc Durand, Yoheved Kaplinsky and聽Ronald Turini.聽Dr. Rhee currently resides in Rochester where she maintains a private聽teaching studio and has been a faculty member at 91制片厂 since 2006. She聽also serves on the College of Examiners for the Royal Conservatory of Music.
